Interwiki değiştir

Do you know Turkish language. I looked up your page in Portuguese Wiktionary and did not notice. How will you make interwikis? Will you make interwikis to Turkish words which has English translation?--Saltinbas 21:24, 17 Temmuz 2007 (UTC)

Hi, The word "çoğul" has a meating of "plural" in English. The origin of "çoğul" come from verb "çoğalmak" which has a meaning of "augmenting", "become more".

the word "cem" on the other hand comes from Arabic language. it has a meaning of "to sum", "to gather". Turkish people normaly use "çoğul", the word "cem" is vanishing from Turkish language as it should be. I looked at the word "cem" in TDK and it has a meaning of "çoğul" in grammer(dil bilgisi) and old words(eskimiş). And also I searhed the word "cem" in Nişantan Turkish Etimological dictionary and it has a meaning of "to sum", "to gather".

please find below those links.

So as a conclusion, "cem" has three meaning, The primary is "to sum up, and gather", secondary meaning "plural", third meaning "summation". Also it should be noted that it is a Arabic word that is not commanly used in nowadays.--Saltinbas 09:08, 28 Temmuz 2007 (UTC)
